This monthly newsletter helps keep you informed and up to date on current events in and around Windsor. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, February 21 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall.

 


January 30 – 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Windsor Christian Church will host a Blood drive. Please call and schedule an appointment.

January 31 – 6:30-8:00 p.m.

Maintaining the Momentum Meeting. Community Building. Cookies & drinks provided.

February 3 – 5:30 p.m.

American Legion Friday Night Supper. Watch for happenings on sign across from Legion building for meal nights and times.

 

February 4 – 9:00 a.m.

Windsor Shootout. 5th & 6th grade basketball.

 

February 5 – 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Windsor Harvest Picnic Super Bowl Lunch. Community Building. Chili, oyster soup, potato soup, pork burgers, hamburgers, dessert, drink. Donations.

 

February 6 – 7:00 p.m.

 City Council meeting – stay informed.

 

February 7 – 4:30-7:30 p.m.

WHS-Cheer-4-A-Cure Benefit for Jacob Adams. Pasta Dinner hosted by WHS Basketball team & cheerleaders.

Windsor HS Old Gym. Team Jacob wristbands are now on sale – $3.

Recycling (2nd & 4th Tuesdays) START RECYCLING at your house! This is a valuable service offered “Free of Charge” and is VITAL to our environment and planet. Dumpster located at Old Street Shed Bldg. Bring your recyclables – paper, cardboard, magazines, aluminum & metal cans, plastic bottles, jugs. Etc.

 

February 15 – 11:30 a.m.

Peacemeals Soup & Salad Lunch. Third Wednesday of each month. Public is invited.

February 17 – 5:30 p.m.

American Legion Friday Night Supper. Watch for happenings on sign across from Legion building for meal nights and times.

 

February 18 – 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Valentine’s Day Dance. Windsor HS Old Gym. Music provided by Sounds of Swing. Donations at the door. All proceeds go to Jacob Adams. Hosted by Class of 2013. For more information e-mail Shelley Clotfelter or Stephanie Kinkley at the high school.

 

February 20 – 7:00 p.m.

February 22 – 8:30 a.m. & 5:30 p.m.

Ash Wednesday Service. United Methodist Church.

 

February 25 – 6:00-9:00 a.m.

American Legion Breakfast. Fourth Saturday of each month. Public is invited.

 

February 26 – 12:00 p.m.

All Town Mapping Meeting. Windsor HS. Meal by FFA. Donation. Come out and enjoy a noon meal and see what the mapping is all about, what is planned and what is already being done. Meal at noon. Meeting at 1:00 p.m. EVERYBODY IS WELCOME!

 

February 28

Fisherman’s Club at Windsor Christian Church.  Open to all kids from K to 6th grade.  Memory verses, Bible lesson, snacks, and games.

 

 Every Thursday – 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Sleeping Bags for the Homeless are being made at the Windsor Methodist Church. For information call Susie Bouck – 459-2359.

MWF – 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

T & TH – 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

Saturday – 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

 

Bit of History…

Did you know – In 1832, Ash Grove Christian Church was organized and built its first church in 1840. It was one of the strongest county churches in Central Illinois.

 

Windsor Township is taking mowing bids for mowing 5 cemeteries. This requires trimming around stones and mowing to keep cemeteries in good condition. Bids must be received by February 15, 2012. Mail bids to:
